If you have a humidifier attached to your PAP machine, do you ever get droplets of water that collect in your mask and tube? A heated tube is designed to reduce this type of moisture build up that happens when the air temperature inside of your tubing is different from the air temperature outside of your tubing. Think about how a glass of cold water will collect moisture on the outside of the glass after it sits out in the sun for a while. A heated tube has electrical coils that cover the outside of the tube to make sure that the air right outside of your tube is the same temperature as the air flowing inside of your tube.
